Deck basics: play, cue, hot cues and loops

Both decks have the same controls: a play button, Cue, eight hot cue pads and a loop control. Here's what each one does once a track is loaded.

Play and pause

Press the round play button. The spacebar does the same for the deck you touched last: the one you last loaded a track onto or clicked. While you're typing in a search box or in chat, the spacebar types a space as usual.

Cue

Press Cue to stop the deck and take it back to the very start of the track. To come back in anywhere else, use a hot cue.

Jump and scrub

Click anywhere on the deck's small waveform to jump there. On your own deck, while it plays, the jump lands on the nearest beat. Press and hold the small waveform for half a second to open the deck's grid panel instead. On the big waveform across the top, drag to move through the track.

Hot cues

Each deck has eight hot cue pads, A to H.

Each pad shows the time of its cue, and each cue shows as a mark on the deck's small waveform. If you import from Rekordbox, your hot cues are on their pads every time the track loads.

Loops

Beside the pads is the loop control: a number with an arrow on each side. The number is the loop's length in beats, so 4 is one bar.

If you press the number while the track is still being analyzed, the control shows "…" for a moment and no loop starts. Press it again once the analysis is done.
